BARR'S BOOKS

About

Each book in the Triangle Ted series features a different quirky and likeable character whose geometrical head shape leads to challenges they have to overcome. The target readership is children aged 5 to 9. The books have an obvious educational dimension, and worksheets based on them are available on request.

Format is 12.8 x 12 cm, full colour, saddle stitched, with 30 facing pages of verse narrative and illustration. All five were published in 2013 by Starborn Books in Wales. Storylines and outline illustrations are by Alex Barr, verses and colours by Peter Oram, graphic design by Dave Parkin. RRP £3.99 each, or all five for £17.50.

Alex Barr’s stories and poems have been read on BBC Radio and appeared in leading magazines in the UK, USA, Ireland, and Canada. His story collection My Life With Eva was published in 2017 by Parthian Books. Take a Look At Me-e-e! a book of stories for children about farm animals, based on his experience as a smallholder, appeared from Gomer Press in 2014.

Peter Oram’s collection In Carvoeiro won first prize in the Sentinel Poetry Book Award in 2015. His verse translations of three sequences of Rainer Maria Rilke’s French poems are published by Starborn. The Page and the Fire, verse translations of Russian poetry, appeared from Arc in 2007. Peter died in 2019 and this web site is dedicated to his memory.
